Neale-Wade Academy is pleased to share a report following its recent monitoring inspection by Ofsted. Monitoring inspections report on a school’s progress, rather than providing grades for specific areas.
Inspectors visited the school earlier in January and found that progress had been made, highlighting that leaders have “improved the culture” of the school and praising leaders for having raised expectations for behaviour.
The school was pleased to see Ofsted’s reflection that “pupils have begun to learn more successfully than at the time of the previous inspection” and that “pupils who say they would not have recommended the school at the time of the previous inspection, now do so.”
Other examples of positive progress made include:
鈼 Breaktimes are calmer and there is less disruption in the classroom.
鈼 The school has far fewer substitute teachers now. Staffing is more settled and this helps students “develop greater confidence in their education”.
鈼 Leaders have developed the school’s curriculum and students now have “a more coherent experience of learning”.
鈼 Students now receive “more cohesive career guidance”, so they are able to make informed choices about their next steps.
鈼 Attendance has improved and fewer students have high levels of absence.
Ofsted also noted that Active Learning Trust has supported Neale-Wade Academy well, providing extra capacity where needed.
Mr. G. Horn, Principal at Neale-Wade Academy, said:
“We are pleased that this report reflects the progress made and I want to thank all our staff, students, parents and carers and the whole school community for their support in helping us to make meaningful changes across many areas of school life.
“We will use this report to build on our progress, always striving to ensure that we are providing the best learning experience possible for every student.”
Lynsey Holzer, CEO at Active Learning Trust, said:
“This is a very encouraging report and I want to thank Mr. Horn, the leadership team and all staff for working so diligently to make significant improvements.
“We look forward to supporting Neale-Wade Academy to continue to progress, together with the support of the whole school community.”
